Is Australia a developed country? I dont think so?
1) It does not have any one millionaries in the forbes list like Lakshmi mittal, Ambani, Billgates* better to be a country with only a few millionaires than a country with many million people with only a few dollars.2) No capability to build nuclear weapons inspite of rich deposits of nuclear raw materials.* well, a Pakistani missile is not three minutes away from reaching Australia3) No ability to build a satellite launching vehicle on it own.* yes, but we are secure enough in ourselves to hire the French, Chinese or Americans to launch our satellites. Much cheaper too.4) Economy is kept afloat only by the tourism and the raw materials and minerals export. Not much in the manufacturing and high tech sector. So cannot be considered as industrially developed country. What is the fate if they run out of minerals one day?* no, we innovate - and that is what makes us advanced. North Korea actually has the greatest proportion of its workforce in secondary industry, but it cannot feed itself and I don't think people consider the North Koreans as leaders in services.5) No world-wide renowned brands like Ford, IBM, Toyota etc..BHP-Biletton, Rio Tinto, Macquarie, Qantas, Fosters come to mind as global Australian brands. 6) Dependence on USA and Britain for taking any political decisions. Lack of independent thinkingNo, those are our friends. Sometimes we disagree, but usually our interests are shared. Who are India's friends?
